Downloading Files
Downloading files from the internet is somewhat different for the various
browsers. Generally, when you click on a download, a
'Save As' window will open. You may have the option to 'Open' or 'Save to
Disk'. Select the 'Save to Disk' option. This will open a 'Save As' window.
Select your Desktop in the 'Save In' field. Do not change the name of the
file. Click 'Save', this will begin the downloading process. Downloading
times vary depending on the speed of your connection and the size of the
download.
When the download is complete, you'll have an icon on your
desktop with the name of the file you downloaded. Double click on the icon
to open it. If the download file is a ZIP file, you'll need to extract the
files before installing. After double clicking or opening the downloaded file, click on
'Extract All Files' in the window that opens. With the file extracted, in Vista
or Windows 7, click
on 'Setup' with your RIGHT hand mouse button and select 'Run as Administrator'.
With Windows XP or earlier, just double click on 'Setup'.
It is recommended that you install the software
into the default directory. After installation is complete, you can access
the program with the 'Start' menu or directly from the DAPro icon installed
on your desktop. (Click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Steinhoff & Associates',
'DAPro'). After you have successfully installed,
the download file itself is no longer needed. You can delete it by clicking
on it 1 time to highlight it and then press the 'Delete' key on your keyboard
to move it to your Recycle bin.
